EFT

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a tapping therapy specifically focused on our emotional short-term and long-term challenges. It is based on a theory that negative emotions no matter how insignificant or dramatic are caused by disturbances in the brain’s or body’s energy field. Tapping on the meridians energy pathways which form a network interconnect all parts of the body at a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

Tapping allows space for emotional expression. This alters the rhythm of energy from the subconscious releasing whatever we were holding onto. We express ourselves through yawning, laughing, sighing, sleepiness, relaxation, crying or a clear uplifting feeling.

When I first heard of Emotional Freedom through a friend, I was intrigued. The words resonated with me because I knew my emotional patterns were showing stress-related symptoms. I was aware that I had my fair share of life experiences, yet for me IBS was my Achilles’ heal.

“There are times in our lives when we experience fear as the driving emotion.” Roxanne Barker

EFT addresses our emotional disturbances by tapping to find the root cause. Therefore we become unattached to those ongoing thoughts and emotions. This gives relief to many. We can then adjust our lives accordingly.
